Paddling Programs for Everyone:

Welcome: The 2008 season has begun! Our first on-water session of 2008 was Tuesday May 6th, so if you would like to paddle, please come out at the times indicated below.

The Belleville Paddling Club offers paddling programs on Tuesday and Thursday nights for both recreational and competitive dragon boaters. Just join us at the dock and choose the program and time that suits your experience level and energy level.


Our Dragon Boat Paddling Programs for 2008:

Competitive Program
For the serious paddler. Focus on technique, conditioning, race strategy, team building and fun.

  • Day and Time: Tuesday and Thursday 6:00 PM
  • Age Limit: 16 years or older
  • Program coordinator/coach: Larry Bird and Greg Taylor
  • Festival Entries: Pickering Dragon Boat Festival, Belleville United Way Festival, Montreal Festival, GWN

Recreational Program
For the less serious paddler and those who just want to get a bit of exercise out on the water. Focus on technique, team building and fun.

  • Day and Time: Tuesday and Thursday
    - Two sessions 5:30 and 6:30 PM
  • Age Limit: 13 years or older
  • Program coordinator/coach: Tim Austin
  • Festival Entries - for those wishing to compete: Pickering Dragon Boat Festival, Belleville United Way Festival, Cobourg United Way Festival

Breast Cancer Survivors AKA "The Pink Dragons"

  • Day and Time: Monday 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
  • Age Limit: 16 years or older
  • Program coordinator/coach: Rick White
  • Festival Entries: Peterborough, Belleville United Way Festival and Windsor.

Membership Fees:

The 2008 Season Membership Fees are as follows:

  • Full Membership: $150.00
  • Student Fee: $45.00 (must provide proof of full time enrollment in school)

For returning members, fees due by May 31, 2008

Fees include use of the club's equipment and coaching. Regatta fees are extra on a participation basis and vary by event.

All participants must complete a registration form and sign a waiver.

An Invitation: If you are new to the sport, we invite you to come out and try paddling three times as a non-member and then if you wish to continue you can then register and pay your membership fees.
