Welcome to the Belleville Dragon Boat Challenge!

   
 
Information for Registered Crews and Participants:

Welcome to the Belleville Dragon Boat Challenge in support of United Way of Quinte. We are looking forward to another great day of Dragon Boat Sprint racing.


The Details:

Directions to Victoria Park:

From the West:

  • Take highway #401 to Belleville
  • Take Exit 538 (Wallbridge-Loyalist Road) south to the end at Highway #2
  • Turn left onto Highway #2 and proceed East into Belleville.
  • As you come into the city you will see a Tim Hortons on your left.
  • Proceed across the river and take first right on Front Street South. The Beer Store will be to your Left
  • Immediately across the railway tracks is a small road to the right entering Victoria Park and the Dragon boat Festival

From the East:

  • Take highway 401 to Belleville
  • Take Exit 543 A (62 South)
  • Follow 62 South (Front Street)
  • Keep right when it forks at the bottom of the hill
  • Follow Front St. across the river and keep right...downtown
  • Pass City Hall on your left and cross Dundas St. (highway #2)
  • See Beer store on left, cross railway tracks and turn immediate right into Victoria Park (Dragon Boat Festival)

PARKING NOTE: Parking is NOT permitted on the site. Adequate parking is close by on the streets just outside the park. Vehicles will be permitted to drop off equipment and leave the site prior to 7:30 a.m.

Payment and Registration:

Crew reps are to drop off pledges and /or registration fees at the registration tent. Look for signage.

ALL crews must submit completed waivers. This is each crew's responsibility. Festival staff will not come looking for these documents.

United Way Pledges:

This is a charity event in support of the United Way of Quinte. So, in addition to your entry fee, all Community/Corporate teams are requested to raise $50 per member in pledges to the United Way.

Pledge Forms are included in the Registration Package. Please print as many as you need.

Athletes Village:

Crews can set up at the North end of the Park on the grass between the roadways. The area south of the Cabana will be accommodating a Childrens' Village/Play area, licensed and entertainment area. Tents, coolers etc are fine.

Division Requirements:

PFD's are required to be worn.

Race Schedule:

Marshalling:

Crews will Pre-marshal 20 minutes prior to their race at the North end of the park on the road way at the waterfront. Marshalling area will be staffed and clearly marked indicating lanes.

Food and Entertainment:

Food vendors will be on site.

"Cup" Races:

Cup races will be the 2nd heats (ie Womens Cup, Soccer Mom's, Police Cup, Grand Masters, Hospital, etc).
