Cobourg - September 22/2007
Congratulations to the members of the Belleville Dragon Boat Club who won Silver in the "B" Division (Out of Town Teams) at the Northumberland United Way Challenge on the weekend.
For the first time ever, the Belleville crew that participated in Cobourg was made up of men and women from all of our paddling programs - Recreational (Rec Rebels), Competitive (The Machine) and the Grand Masters (Heat). In previous years only the Rec Rebels made up the crew at Cobourg, but this year, we had members from all crews interested. It's great to see our club coming together, both for the love of the sport, and to help out the Northumberland United Way.
A special thanks to Karen McKeown for organizing the team and being our head coach. And, thanks to Greg Taylor who was also instrumental in coaching as well as Miles Lectaur who steered. We'd also like to recognize all the Belleville Dragon Boat Club members who volunteered to help run the festival.
Way to go guys! You make Belleville proud.

Calgary - August 26/2007
The Belleville Dragon Boat Club sends their congratulations to the Belleville and Pickering Grand Masters teams, "The Heat", that competed in the National Dragon Boat Championships in Calgary Alberta.
Due to many hours of diligent work and detication from both the crew and their coach, Pat Bradley, The Heat brought home 5 medals:
The mixed crew of both men and women swept the competition in tree events wining gold in the 200m, 500m, and 2000m - while the women's team beat the defending world champions from Toronto to win gold in the 500m.
The 50 year old plus Grand masters women also won silver in the 200m final while the Belleville men's crew were acclaimed in their division.
Having won in Calgary, all three of the Grand Masters teams have earned the honor of representing Canada in the 2008 World Championships in Penang Mylasia.
Again, congratulations guys, all of the Belleville club are really proud of you.
